In November 2019, Studio GLUE was invited to speak at the Pangkor Dialogue, organised by the Perak International Expo (PIEX) 2019. Pangkor Dialogue is an annual platform organised in conjunction with the PIEX trade show, showcasing high-profile speakers such as the economist Jeffrey Sachs.
The event, which took place in Ipoh, capital city of Perak, Malaysia, saw GLUE Studio’s Creative Director, Zarina Holmes, presenting a talk on “Industrial Revolution 4.0” together with a panel of experts Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tazli (CEO Digital Perak), Ms. Rina Neoh (Co-Founder Ficus Venture Capital) and Associate Prof. Dr. Nurhizam Safie of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Studio GLUE’s co-founder, Salina Christmas, presented a talk on “Youth and Sports Participation” alongside Malaysian Olympian Mr. Jeffrey Ong, Team GB triathlete and coach for the Perak triathlon squad, Mr. Dean Ratcliffe and Ronald Robinson Robins, President and CEO, Mineski Corporation.
During PIEX 2019, GLUE Studio attended the Invest Perak Networking Dinner at Casuarina Convention Centre, Ipoh. The team also had the opportunity to meet with members of the local tech enterprise community such as Mr. Benny Teh (Founder, Ipoh NEX esports consultancy) and Mr. Jim Khong of PASAK (Perak Youth Aspiration Centre).
GLUE’s portfolio includes place branding for tech ecosystems and entrepreneurs training initiative, the most recent being Warna Workshops, held in partnership with Upstream, a startup initiative supported by the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and Imperial College London.
