Studio GLUE team is fortunate enough to be able to travel to Malaysia in August, despite having to spend a two-week hotel quarantine, to meet with KL20x20 and KL International Photoawards teams in Kuala Lumpur.

The KL20x20 photography festival made its debut this year, featuring the works of eighteen photographers and one featured artist. Exhibitions are being held at eight selected locations around Kuala Lumpur from 10 to 20 September 2020.

The founders, Steven Lee and Nadirah Zakaria, persevered with the project despite of the nationwide movement control order (MCO) lockdown that took place earlier in the year at the height of the pandemic in the country. Organiser Nurul Munirah Rohaizan oversees the ground operations.

About the brand identity

The isometric logo of KL20x20 reflects the towering architecture of Kuala Lumpur. This, together with the vibrant colour spectrum, also symbolise the city’s constant state of flux and dynamic spirit.

Studio GLUE believes that cultural activities are important in reviving a nation’s spirit and economy after a challenging time recovering from the pandemic.

Studio GLUE is a partner of the KL20x20 festival. We were tasked to help the team design the festival’s brand identity.
