The Keeper of My Kin and A Request for Betrayal by Salina Christmas are now available at Eslite Bookstore Malaysia  in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Keeper of My Kin and A Request for Betrayal by Salina Christmas are now available at Eslite Bookstore Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur’s luxury shopping mall The Starhill. Taiwanese company Eslite is one of Asia’s largest retail bookstore chains.

The books are part of The Constant Companion Tales series, a work of horror fiction that explores an ancient generational curse set against the historical backdrop of World War II, the Malaysia-Indonesia confrontation in the 1960s and the Malaysian Emergency period from the 1950s to the 1980s.

The story is centered around the chaos created by the Raden family’s demon servant, The Constant Companion, and an older, more sinister servant, a were-tiger, which none of the family members want to inherit.

The series is published by Studio GLUE’s imprint, Story Of Books, which is also a journal for pop culture books. Gerakbudaya is the official retail distributor for Malaysia. The distributor is also one of Malaysia’s leading publishers of investigative journalism and academic books.

The tales have been serialised on Amazon Kindle as e-books since September 2022. The chapters are collected and published as paperbacks. Two paperbacks have been published so far: The Keeper Of My Kin and A Request For Betrayal.

Readers from the UK, New Zealand, Canada, US, Malaysia and Japan have praised the tales as ‘almost true to life’ and ‘engrossing’, with fans suggesting they should be adapted for film or TV series. “You’ll have catalysed an entire industry,” a reader commented.

The style of narration is described as “possibly magical-realism-adjacent but so rooted in history that it is quite possibly all true”, almost defying the categorisation of a typical horror story.
